“Slammed to the grown, after being thrown clear across a clearing at some ruins by the evil Avatar creature. UltraMother, left alone in the battle, after the depletion of the rest of the Ultras, and almost depleted herself, has only one move left at this point. A punch to the upper body, around the lower chest area of the beast, so intense as to bend steel, followed by a swift, and equally powerful, kick to the face between the eyes….”
Being a fan of Ultraman from way back in the day, decades back, I went in search for some Ultraman Poser figures. I found a few, but the one that caught my interest the most is one called UltraMotherK5 by KPF (there are several versions, I went with K5 for this render). The K5 model's mat textures (skin) came with the stripes in a pinkish color. To me, Ultras are not Ultras without those red-fire color stripes. I edited the texture by applying the red color; and to the main horns on the sides of her forehead. I left the smaller horns on her forehead the pinkish color they came with.
Now, the hard part was getting the mat values right to be able to render this figure with the Lux Render engine. I am not a wizard when it comes to changing mat values or creating my own, but I persisted with this render and the results have stunned even me! I think she came out looking awesome, way better than I ever thought possible.
The figure acting as the monster in this render is based on Sixus1's Behemoth V2 (or Behemoth 2010) base model with the Umala morph. The only thing I did with this figure was to raise the bump values for the shorts and apply some dirt and grunge with the Grime-Inizer for DAZ Studio.
I used the Reality for DAZ Studio plug-in to render the scene using the Lux Render engine.
I have been working with the UltraMotherK5 figure for a few days now (as a result of some criticism on the waxy look of UltraMother on my first render) and this time I finally got much better results.
For this new scene I decided to try something else. This time, I actually show her as the 32,000 ton hero she is, set in a city in a Kung Fu pose.
Although this figure is not based on the Victoria V4 base mesh, I was able to apply poses from the Martial Arts Poses V4 set with very minor adjustments.
The city model is Urban Sprawl 2 The Big City.
Also, I reworked the materials. I forgot that her head, ears, and pig tails are actually a helmet, apart from the rest of her suit (and the modeler did provide for that). I went with a Metallic Silver for the helmet and lowered the glossiness on the rest of her suit. I created a bump map and applied it to her suit, now the suit doesn't look waxy.
A much better combination of material settings and you can see the color of her lips now. 🙂
Looks a lot better than my first render.
Ultramother, also called “Mother of Ultra” (ウルトラの母, Urutora no Haha), can issue forth a healing beam that can, also, fix a broken ColorTimer; and, of course, the usual destruction beam.
One of the issues that I had at first with the new UltraMan movies and series was how convoluted it all was. There are so many characters and stories now that it isn't easy to follow what's going on if you are not a diehard fan. I found this Wiki, it has a lot on the Ultra Universe, or is it Universes?
